Roads re-open to regular traffic at 4pm daily
Oakland, CA — To facilitate the safe removal of railroad tracks, the City of Oakland will be temporarily closing Coliseum Way from Independent Road to Julie Ann Way. The anticipated road closure dates are Tuesday, February 14, through Tuesday, February 28, 2012, with construction occurring between 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Since this two-week project is weather dependent, there may be delays in starting or finishing construction. If a weather delay is experienced, posted signs will be adjusted as quickly as possible.
Signs will detour motorists on to San Leandro Street and I-880. The City is working with Union Pacific Railroad to remove the railroad tracks and repave Coliseum Way with asphaltic concrete. Notices of the temporary road closure have been distributed to residents and businesses in the area.
